Around the world in 72 days. The jourey of Nellie Bly tells the exciting and adventurous journey that the young American journalist Elisabeth Cochrane – who used the pseudonym Nellie Bly and was the favorite of Joseph Pulitzer at the New York World – made in 1889 at the age of 24, around the world following the path of the famous character of Jule Verne, sixteen years after the release of the novel Le Tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours (Around the world in eighty days). Nellie also met the French writer during a stop on her journey.
The setting is enriched with historical images from the photographic archives of the Italian Geographic Society and of the National Library of Congress in Washington, with the video editing by Federico Spirito and Alessio Raponi. Music is by Massimo Fedeli, arrangements and sound effects by Marco Melia, costumes by Rita Sorgi. The actor Lorenzo Acquaviva gives the voice to Jule Verne.
