Alessandro Murzi, was born in Rome and he is graduated in piano, brass instrumentation, composition and conducting. He studied conducting with K. Osterreicher (H. Swarowsky assistant), and U. Lajovic, at the “Hochschule fur Musik” in Vienna, obtaining the first degree as an internal student in 1991.
He had the opportunity at that time to know and work with directors such as W. Sawallisch, D. Kitaenko, Gary Bertini, A. Fischer, V, Neumann and others, and orchestras like the Vienna Philarmonik Orchestra and the Wiener Symphoniker, Wiener Kammer Orchester, and others. Winner of the National Piano Competition Città di Roma, he gave concerts and tours in Hungary, Lebanon and Venezuela as piano accompanist for opera singers, among others collaborating with soloists such as N. Rogers, D. Dessì, L. Bersiani, and with artists such as R. Paganini. In 1995 he debuted as a conductor in La Traviata by G. Verdi in concert form. Among the collaborations in the following period (1996-2001), the more intense is the one with the orchestra of the Fondazione Alessandro Scarlatti di Napoli  in Tosca, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Cavalleria Rusticana, The Merry Widow. In 1997-98  he was conductor of’ Ensemble Colosseum, involved in concerts and recordings of young contemporary composers and including 900 G. Guaccero, S. Pallante, E. Morocchini, R. Bellafronte and others. He has recorded for Vatican Radio as a pianist and conductor. He collaborated with the Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI in Rome, with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and with the National Dance Academy of Rome. n 1998 he was commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the symphonic suite Il sogno del mare amico for the World Exposition in Lisbon, conducting the AMIT Symphony Orchestra, today Orchestra di Roma. For the association Music Theatre International, which will later join as secretary general and responsible for the music of the ‘900 and contemporary, he conducted Oedipus Rex by I. Stravinsky in Cancelleria Apostolic Palace of Rome (12/2001), Pierrot Lunaire by A. Schonberg at Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia (8 / 2003) and the oratory of A. Vivaldi Juditha Triumphans also in Cancelleria Apostolic Palace of Rome (11/2004) . Andrea Molino’s assistant in Credo- the ‘innocence of God, an Opera Music Media and Fabrica’s production by Andrea Molino, performed at the 5th World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize on 11 November 2004 at Rome’s Termini Station with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He also conducted opera and symphony concerts with Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecco, Classical Orchestra of Espinho in Portugal and the Italian Opera Orchestra Academy. In July 2005, as part of celebrations for the youth games in Lignano, conductor of the Chopin’s Second Concerto with soloist Paul Kaspar, the concert was recorded and broadcast by RAI 3. As assistant to the Maestro Roberto Tolomelli has collaborated with the Orchestra dei pomeriggi musicali in Milan with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana(EOSS) and the Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa, the Orchestra Città Lirica of Livorno , The Symphony Orchestra of the Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo (SP), and others, and participated in exhibitions and festivals such as the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and the Luglio Musicale Trapanese, taking part in the production of symphony concerts and opera productions such as Luisa Miller, Simon Boccanegra by G. Verdi, Roberto Devereux” by G. Donizetti. In 2008 all ‘Auditorium Gonfalone in Rome and Frascati’s Scuderie Aldobrandini he conducted Il Pigmalione by G. Donizetti with the Orchestra of the M.Th.I., overseeing the revision of the score from the Donizetti’s original manuscript, in collaboration with the D.H.I. in Rome. He is currently taking care of the ‘critical edition of the score on behalf of the Fondazione Donizetti of Bergamo which has been officially appointed on 10 / 9 / 2009. He conducted the Orchestra Città di Sassari in a recital with the baritone operatic and symphonic Alberto Gazale at the Cathedral of St. Nicola in Sassari on 18/12/2009 getting from audiences and critics. He opened the opera, ballet and music season  2010 del Luglio Musicale Trapanese with Coppelia by L. Delibes. In May 2011 he has been invited as chief guest of the Sociedad Filarmonica de Asunción in Paraguay to conduct symphonic concerts and opera with the Symphonic Orquesta Sinfonica Ciudad de Asunción (OSCA) and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nacional de Paraguay. Particularly active in composing soundtracks and  music for film, he has composed and directed for film, theater, radio and television, working with directors such as L. Orange, Aurelio Grimaldi, Ferrente Agostino, G. Piperno, F. Cataldi, Anna Amendola and Pupi Avati.  His Tre Liriche per coro di voci bianche e pianoforte texts by J. Prevert, were performed by the Vienna Boys Choir’s at the Auditorium S. Cecilia in Rome, by the Società del Quartetto di Milano and in the most prestigious European theaters during the 1994 tour.
